ABOUT US............
This is supposed to be a sort of welcoming message to anyone who has ventured on
to our new site for:
to our new site for:
" THE ST KEVIN EMERALD KNIGHTS SENIOR DRUM & BUGLE CORPS"
You are here so now let me try to tell you something about us!
What we are is a group of people from all "walks of life" (pardon the cliche'), who
have gotten together to once again enjoy doing something that we used to do when
we were a lot younger:namely playing & marching in a drum & bugle corps.We may not be able to play baseball,football,hockey etc.etc.but we most certainly can play
our music,parade down the street, or perform on an arena floor. Of course our
marching is limited vs.what we used to do, but nonetheless we make a heck of a
presentation.One can say we are crazy for putting ourselves "through the wringer"
(damn,there he goes with the cliches again) but it is a recurrence of some of the
best, most rewarding, and fun filled years of our lives.
NO NO NO, we are not trying to relive our youth, Once was enough!
Since the year 2000, when we were organized, we have traveled extensively, done a
whole lot of parades, and played in alot of concert halls.All the while we've been
having fun.........yeah, that's what it's all about. It's not just "about us" it's also
about having fun and enjoying yourself.
We are definitely a 'senior" corps and not an Alumni Corps. The media insists in
referring to this movement as 'Alumni" but that is definitely not the case.
This 'St Kevin Emerald Knights" drum & bugle corps is comprised of the finest
talent this country has produced. Yes, I said 'Country." We liken ourselves to this country in the sense that we are a 'Melting Pot" of drum corps 'NUTS" from
all over the country.
Soooooooooooooooo, no matter where you are now or where you are from:
